bitcoin supply

Bitcoin is generally not expected to exceed 21 million coins. The cap is enforced by issuance rules, node validation, and network-wide consensus.

How is bitcoin limited to 21 million? The cap comes from code-based issuance: new BTC enters through block rewards that keep getting cut in half.

The 21 million cap is fixed, but new bitcoin enters slowly. What is left depends on issuance progress, halvings, and circulating supply.

When Bitcoin reaches 21 million, the network does not stop. New coin issuance ends, and miner revenue depends more on transaction fees.

When Bitcoin reaches 21 million, new coin issuance ends, but the network keeps running and miners rely more on transaction fees.

Bitcoin cannot simply go past 21 million. The cap is part of the protocol; unit splits, forks, and platform balances do not change BTC supply.

Bitcoin is capped at 21 million because its issuance schedule was built to be scarce, predictable, and resistant to arbitrary expansion.

Bitcoin is capped at 21 million coins because its issuance schedule halves over time, creating a fixed supply path that trends toward a hard limit.
