The number that anchors this question
A reader asking how many slot machines Mohegan Sun has is usually trying to size the gaming floor before deciding whether the trip is worth it. The documented figure from publicly published reference sources is over 6,500 slot machines, recorded alongside 370 table games and more than 364,000 square feet of gaming space. That is a point-in-time snapshot, not a live count, and the property revises these numbers as it rebuilds and expands.
The venue sits in Uncasville, Connecticut, at coordinates 41.49222222 north and -72.09138889 west. It opened on October 12, 1996, and is owned and operated by the federally recognized Mohegan Tribe. The slot count belongs to that physical location, not to any separate Pennsylvania property, which matters because the keyword includes the letters "pa" even though this venue is in Connecticut.
Where the slot figure comes from
The over 6,500 figure appears in publicly published reference sources describing the property's gaming space. The same source sentence ties the slot count to the 364,000 square feet of gaming space and the 370 table games, so the three numbers describe one documented configuration rather than three independent claims. When a casino reconfigures its floor, removes older cabinets, or adds a high-limit room, the slot count changes, and the published figure lags behind the physical floor.
A reader who wants today's exact count should check the property's own published floor information or ask guest services directly. The number printed on a third-party reference page may be months or years old, and no article can verify the live count without standing on the floor and counting cabinets.
What the slot count does and does not tell you
A slot count of over 6,500 tells a reader the property operates at a very large scale. It does not tell the reader which denominations are available, how many machines are video reels versus mechanical reels, how many are linked progressives, or where the non-smoking sections sit. Those details change by section and by season, and the property's own floor map carries the current layout.
The count also does not include electronic table games if the property classifies those separately from slot machines. Some venues count electronic table game terminals inside the slot figure; others list them under table games. That classification difference is one reason two published sources can disagree about the same building.
Gaming space versus total building space
The documented gaming square footage is more than 364,000 square feet. That figure describes the casino floor itself, not the hotel towers, convention space, restaurants, arena, or parking structures. Mohegan Sun also includes two hotel towers, the Sky Tower and the Earth Tower opened in 2016, which together provide more than 1,500 rooms. A reader comparing this property to another venue should compare gaming square footage to gaming square footage, not to total resort square footage, because the two measurements answer different questions.
| Documented facility field | Value | Measurement type |

| Gaming space | more than 364,000 sq ft | gaming floor area only |
| Hotel rooms | more than 1,500 | two towers combined |

Why the keyword says Pennsylvania when the venue is in Connecticut
The keyword "how many slots at mohegan sun pa" appends "pa," which is the postal abbreviation for Pennsylvania. Mohegan Sun is not in Pennsylvania; it is in Uncasville, Connecticut. The "pa" in the keyword most likely comes from a search query that combined the venue name with a state abbreviation by mistake, or from a user who assumed the property was in Pennsylvania because another Mohegan-branded property exists elsewhere.
This article answers the question for the documented Uncasville property. If the reader intended a Pennsylvania venue, the slot count above does not apply to that other location, and the reader should confirm which property they mean before relying on any figure.
How to think about the count if you are planning a visit
The over 6,500 figure is useful for understanding scale, but a visitor's experience depends on which section of the floor they enter. A casino this size spreads machines across multiple rooms, levels, and smoking designations. The count does not promise that any particular game title, denomination, or progressive jackpot is present on a given day.
Before travelling, a reader should confirm the current slot count, the floor layout, and any section closures directly with the property. The venue's own published floor information and guest services line carry the current answer, and that answer can differ from the documented reference figure.
Straight-line distances to reference points
Distances below are great-circle, straight-line measurements between documented coordinates. Road distance is always longer, and this article does not publish driving mileage or travel time. A reader measuring from their own location should use a mapping tool and understand that the straight-line figure is only a starting point.
| Reference point | Straight-line distance from Mohegan Sun | Measurement type |
|---|---|---|
| New York City | 113.3 miles | great-circle, not driving |
| Boston | 80.1 miles | great-circle, not driving |
| Philadelphia | 192.8 miles | great-circle, not driving |
| Atlantic City | 191.6 miles | great-circle, not driving |
| Washington DC | 315.4 miles | great-circle, not driving |
| Toronto | 399.7 miles | great-circle, not driving |
The New York City and Boston pairs are the closest major reference points in the supplied distance set. A reader in either city should treat the straight-line figure as a floor, not a route: actual road travel is longer and depends on the specific origin, route, and traffic conditions.
What to confirm before you go
Several items change without notice and are not answerable from a static reference figure. The current slot machine count, the number of machines on the floor today, any section closures, the smoking designation of each area, and the availability of specific game titles all sit with the property's own published floor information and guest services. A reader should confirm those items on the day of travel, not rely on a reference count published months earlier.
The hotel room count of more than 1,500 is also a point-in-time figure. If the reader plans to stay overnight, the property's booking page carries current room availability and configuration, and that answer is separate from the gaming floor question.
FAQ
How many slot machines does Mohegan Sun have?
The documented figure from publicly published reference sources is over 6,500 slot machines, recorded alongside 370 table games and more than 364,000 square feet of gaming space. The number is a point-in-time snapshot and changes as the property reconfigures its floor. The property's own published floor information carries the current count.
Is Mohegan Sun in Pennsylvania?
No. Mohegan Sun is in Uncasville, Connecticut, at coordinates 41.49222222 north and -72.09138889 west. The keyword includes the postal abbreviation "pa," but that does not match this venue's state. A reader who intended a Pennsylvania property should confirm which venue they mean before using any figure from this article.
Does the slot count include table games?
No. The documented figure lists over 6,500 slot machines and 370 table games as separate categories. Some venues classify electronic table game terminals inside the slot count, while others list them under table games, which is one reason two published sources can disagree about the same building. The property's own floor classification governs the current split.
