According to BlockBeats, 0G on Sept. 21 introduced Compute Finance, or ComFi, describing it as a financial layer built around AI compute.
0G said ComFi differs from assets that only generate interest or token rewards because it is designed to convert digital assets directly into compute credits that can be used across AI services.
Ascend launches alongside ComFi, while iAI is scheduled for Sept. 29
Released on the same day as ComFi was 0G's liquid staking product Ascend. The company also said its compute-linked digital asset Infinite AI, or iAI, is planned to launch on Sept. 29.
0G outlined the user flow as follows: stake 0G, receive a0G, mint iAI, stake iAI, earn compute credits, and use those credits for AI services.
The company said a0G allows users to retain DeFi composability while their assets are staked, and added that it is currently the only asset that can be used to mint iAI.
How iAI works under the initial parameters
Under the initial design parameters, eligible staked iAI can receive compute credits with a stated usage value of more than $1 per day. Those credits can be used on products including 0G Private Computer and 0G App.
At launch, 0G Private Computer will connect to more than 130 AI models, according to the announcement.
0G also said iAI is expected to be listed on Comfy.fun, its agent and token launch platform.
Collateral lockup and limits on the credits
When iAI is minted, the underlying collateral is locked. Burning iAI unlocks that collateral.
0G said the compute credits are limited to designated AI services, cannot be redeemed for cash, and do not constitute interest or any guaranteed return.
How 0G frames Compute Finance
Co-founder and CEO Michael Heinrich said, 「Equity brought dividends, proof-of-work created a new way to incentivize participation, and DeFi expanded the uses of digital assets. Compute Finance connects digital assets with the right to use AI compute, and Ascend and Infinite AI are the first implementations of that idea.」
0G said it sees ComFi as an open category for the broader AI ecosystem rather than a proprietary brand. The company added that it will publish a full Compute Finance thesis outlining a market framework in which compute can be owned, earned, consumed, and traded.
Risk disclosure
0G said the information is provided for reference only and does not constitute an offer of any securities, digital assets, or financial instruments, nor does it amount to investment, financial, or legal advice.
The company also said the related products are not available in all jurisdictions and are subject to eligibility requirements. It added that digital assets involve significant risks, including the possible loss of the entire principal.
