With over three decades of experience, seasoned macro investor Jordi Visser has stated that Bitcoin's downtrend has ended, citing Elliott Wave analysis. He believes the correction is fully completed and Bitcoin is now entering a fresh upward leg from the $60,000 level, emphasizing its role as a digital scarcity asset amid global chip and energy shortages.
Elliott Wave Suggests Bottom Is In
Visser argues that the previous corrective structure fits the typical Elliott Wave pattern, and the subsequent price action from $60,000 displays characteristics of a new impulse wave. He notes that similar converging wave patterns occurred during previous Bitcoin bull runs, and the current breakout carries strong bullish signals. The completion of the correction wave sets the stage for the next major rally, according to his analysis.
Inflation Overshoot and Scarcity Narrative
Beyond technicals, Visser highlights macroeconomic forces that reinforce Bitcoin's value proposition. He predicts that the surge in artificial intelligence demand and ongoing commodity shortages will push inflation beyond the Federal Reserve's 2% target, potentially reaching 4% or higher. In such a scenario, Bitcoin's fixed supply of 21 million coins positions it as a premier hedge against fiat debasement. "The digital scarcity narrative is amplified by today's global supply chain stress," Visser added.
Call to Allocate 3%-5% of Portfolios
Visser urges asset managers to rethink portfolio construction, asserting that Bitcoin will become a foundational holding by year-end. He recommends an immediate allocation of 3% to 5% of portfolios to Bitcoin to capture its long-term store-of-value potential. Ignoring Bitcoin now, he warns, could mean missing a structural rally driven by both scarcity and technical momentum.
At press time, Bitcoin trades at $61,234, up 1.45% in the past 24 hours. Market sentiment is turning increasingly bullish following Visser's high-profile call.
