Aave has gone live on X Layer, letting OKX Wallet users access lending and borrowing without bridging or extra setup. The rollout includes multiple supported assets, six efficiency modes, and in-wallet position management with aToken trading on OKX DEX.

Aave went live on X Layer on March 30, with OKX integrating the protocol into its wallet so users can access lending tools directly inside the OKX environment. According to the announcement, OKX’s 120 million global users can use these DeFi features without bridging assets or going through extra setup.

The rollout places Aave’s lending and borrowing infrastructure on X Layer, OKX’s Ethereum-compatible network. In practice, that means users can supply assets, borrow against collateral, and manage positions through OKX Wallet on the same network, instead of moving funds through separate steps first.

Aave v3.6 Debuts on X Layer With Multiple Assets at Launch

The integration runs on Aave v3.6 and supports several assets from day one. Users can supply USDT0, USDG, GHO, xBTC, and xETH to earn yield. They can also borrow supported stablecoins and crypto assets without selling existing holdings, using collateral to unlock onchain liquidity.

Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave Labs, said the move links Aave’s liquidity with an expanding user base and makes borrowing, earning, and application building easier to access. Aave already operates across more than a dozen blockchain networks, so the X Layer deployment adds another chain to its existing footprint.

Six Efficiency Modes Raise LTV for Specific Asset Pairs

X Layer introduces six dedicated efficiency modes designed to support higher loan-to-value ratios for selected asset pairs. The example disclosed in the source shows that liquid staking pairs can reach up to 88% LTV. The point is simple: more of a user’s collateral can be put to work instead of sitting idle.

That changes capital usage inside the protocol. The borrowing model stays the same, but users working with correlated assets may be able to operate with tighter capital deployment, especially in strategies that shift liquidity between stablecoins and major crypto assets.

Positions Can Be Managed in OKX Wallet, While aTokens Trade on OKX DEX

The launch also extends beyond protocol availability. OKX has tied Aave functionality more closely to its own wallet interface, allowing users to monitor and manage Aave positions directly inside OKX Wallet without relying on separate tools.

Another operational change is that tokenized deposit positions, or aTokens, can be traded on the OKX decentralized exchange. Users do not need to withdraw funds before trading. The platform also provides real-time pricing and market data for those assets, and once a wallet is connected and X Layer is selected, transactions can begin right away with no extra configuration.
