The native token of decentralized lending protocol Aave, AAVE, has rallied sharply this week, climbing from a low of $87 to $113 — a impressive 31% gain. The surge is driven by large whale accumulation and improving fundamentals of the Aave protocol, sparking renewed optimism across the DeFi sector.
Whale Activity: Two Addresses Lead the Buy
According to on-chain data from Nansen, two substantial whale addresses have been actively withdrawing AAVE from exchanges in the past few days, signaling strong bullish conviction. The token's Relative Strength Index (RSI) has also climbed sharply, indicating sustained buying pressure and accumulation momentum.
Protocol Growth: Loans and Holders on the Rise
On the fundamentals side, Aave's active loan volume bounced from $16.26 billion to $17.5 billion, reflecting increased demand for borrowing and lending. Moreover, the number of AAVE holders has more than tripled from under 9,000 in early 2025 to over 30,000 currently, highlighting growing retail and institutional interest.
Technical Outlook: Analysts Eye $180–$200
From a technical perspective, AAVE has broken through prior resistance and formed a bullish weekly structure. Analysts are now watching $180 and $200 as the next key resistance zones. However, caution is warranted against short-term profit-taking, especially if volume fails to confirm the breakout. At press time, AAVE trades at $114.5, up 1.34% in the last 24 hours.
