Trader AguilaTrades was caught on both sides of the Bitcoin market, according to monitoring data cited by EmberCN on Oct. 9. After losing $300,000 on a BTC long opened the previous afternoon, the trader flipped short in early trading hours, only to see the new position move against him as Bitcoin rebounded. The earlier long was opened at $82,823 and later closed at $81,940, locking in a $300,000 loss. AguilaTrades then opened a short position of 200 BTC at $81,743, with a notional value of about $16.48 million. EmberCN said the entry came near a local bottom, and the position is now showing a floating loss of $150,000. Based on the figures provided, the trader’s capital has dropped sharply. Out of an initial $700,000 principal, only $250,000 remains. The update highlights how quickly leveraged BTC positions can reverse when traders switch direction after a losing trade.
