Singapore, January 8, 2025 – SoSoValue, a leading AI-driven cryptocurrency research platform, today announced a $15 million Series A funding round. The round was co-led by existing shareholders HSG and SmallSpark, with participation from Mirana Ventures and SafePal. This brings the startup's valuation to approximately $200 million, and total investment to nearly $20 million following its $4.15 million seed round in mid-2024.

Fund Allocation and the SSI Protocol

The fresh capital is primarily earmarked as a reserve fund for the SoSoValue Indices (SSI) Protocol, an innovative spot crypto index protocol designed to streamline efficient investment in the crypto market. In late December 2024, SoSoValue launched four SSI tokens on the Base chain as a beta test: MAG7.ssi, MEME.ssi, DEFI.ssi, and USSI (a delta-neutral funding-rate earning token). Within two weeks, more than 10,000 unique wallet addresses were recorded holding these tokens.

The SSI protocol leverages on-chain smart contracts to repackage multi-chain, multi-asset portfolios into wrapped tokens that track the underlying assets' price movements, effectively achieving passive index investing. The underlying spot assets are safeguarded by licensed custodians for security and full transparency. Tokens automatically rebalance monthly, and holders pay a 0.01% tech service fee per 24 hours.

Vision and User Growth

“As Charlie Munger famously said, ‘In the long run, none of us can beat the market.’ For ordinary investors, the best approach is index investing,” said Jivvva Kwan, co-founder of SoSoValue. “We believe the best solution is a spot-based index that automatically rebalances—a stress-free, market-tracking option.” He added that the platform plans to launch an open-source index creation tool, empowering professional investors to turn insights into actionable strategies and allowing anyone to issue their own indices.

SoSoValue has experienced rapid adoption, surpassing 8 million registered users since its launch in 2024—nearly tripling its user base in one year. The platform uses advanced AI algorithms to analyze data from multiple sources and presents it in an intuitive dashboard, offering retail investors professional-grade market data, ETF dashboards, 24-hour news, and community services.

Expansion Plans

“Finding reliable, relevant data has historically been a challenge in the space, as it has been fragmented across disparate platforms,” said Jessie Lo, co-founder. “Our growth this past year is proof there is an appetite for actionable information and products.” The funding will also be used to expand teams across marketing, engineering, and business development, and to bring additional products to market over the coming quarters.

Founded in 2023 and launched in 2024, SoSoValue has become the largest professional crypto research platform. It was the first to highlight net inflows and outflows from Bitcoin ETFs on a unified dashboard and the first to introduce tokenized spot indexes.
