AllUnity has introduced SEKAU, a stablecoin backed by the Swedish krona. According to the announcement, SEKAU is designed as a fully reserved stablecoin and will support multiple blockchains, allowing the asset to be used across different networks. The launch expands AllUnity’s stablecoin portfolio into a Swedish krona-denominated product.

SEKAU’s main positioning is its link to the Swedish krona and its issuance on a full-reserve basis. Stablecoins are commonly used to represent fiat currency value onchain, supporting transfers, settlement and other blockchain-based financial activity. Compared with stablecoins denominated in the US dollar or the euro, a Swedish krona-backed product addresses a more specific fiat currency segment.

AllUnity’s stablecoin portfolio is regulated under the European Union’s MiCA framework. MiCA is the EU’s regulatory structure for crypto-asset markets, including rules that apply to stablecoin issuance and related services. With SEKAU, AllUnity is extending its regulated stablecoin offering under that framework while adding multi-chain support for the Swedish krona-backed asset.
