Odaily reported that digital asset company AllUnity has launched SEKAU, a stablecoin backed by the Swedish krona. According to the announcement, the token is issued under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation and operates as an electronic money token under MiCA. The product is structured around Swedish krona backing and is designed to function within the regulatory framework specified in the release.

SEKAU Is Backed by Segregated Swedish Krona Reserves

AllUnity said SEKAU is supported by segregated Swedish krona reserves and is intended for institutional settlement and cross-border payments. The announcement presents SEKAU as a MiCA electronic money token, with reserves held in Swedish krona and arranged separately to support the token’s operation.

Several partners are involved in the launch structure. Banking Circle will hold and manage the reserves backing SEKAU. Sweden’s Marginalen Bank is serving as the banking partner supporting the rollout. Trust Anchor Group is providing infrastructure integration. Together, these named participants form the initial reserve management, banking support and infrastructure setup for the token.

Initial Launch Covers Five Blockchain Networks

SEKAU will initially cover five blockchain networks: Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo and Polygon. These networks make up the first phase of the Swedish krona stablecoin’s on-chain availability, aligned with the use cases cited by AllUnity for institutional settlement and cross-border payments.

AllUnity also stated that it plans to expand SEKAU to additional blockchain networks later in 2026. The report was sourced from Cointelegraph and covered by Odaily.
