Altura has started winding down its stablecoin yield vault after processing more than 8.5 million USDT in redemptions over 24 hours, according to CEO Ranveer Arora. In a statement posted on X, Arora said persistent withdrawal demand made it increasingly difficult to keep the vault operating, and said the platform’s immediate focus is protecting user funds while completing redemptions in an orderly way.

Core yield product enters staged shutdown

The move affects Altura’s flagship yield product, which previously reached a peak total value locked of $39 million on HyperEVM. The vault had allocated stablecoin deposits across several strategies, including funding-rate arbitrage, market making, and real-world asset investments. Arora said counterparties and business partners have already been informed, and the protocol has begun unwinding positions across exchanges, private credit markets, and RWA allocations.

Not every position can be exited at once. Altura said some assets are available for immediate redemption, while others need more time before becoming fully liquid, so the wind-down will happen in stages as positions are gradually closed.

msUSD collapse drove comparisons across the market

Altura said it has no direct exposure to Main Street or that platform’s investment strategies, but market anxiety spread after Main Street’s yield-bearing stablecoin msUSD lost more than 70% of its value on Saturday. The drop followed a decision by proof-of-solvency provider Accountable to terminate its service agreement with Main Street, saying the firm had failed to meet its verification standards.

Because Accountable also provides proof-of-solvency services for Altura, some market participants began comparing the two protocols despite their different structures and investment approaches. Altura said earlier that its HyperEVM lending vault, Alpha USDT Prime product, related USDT markets, and Ethereum vault borrowers were not affected by the Main Street event.

Altura blames misinformation for faster withdrawals

Arora also pushed back against what he described as misinformation circulating across the industry. He said speculation sped up withdrawals and added pressure during a period of elevated uncertainty. At the same time, he maintained that Altura has operated with transparency and that the decision to shut down the vault was meant to ensure a fair and orderly redemption process.

The wind-down shows how fast confidence can shift in DeFi. Altura continues to say its products are separate from Main Street’s problems, but contagion fears and concentrated redemption demand were enough to bring one of HyperEVM’s larger yield vaults into closure.
