Future XRP, a crypto analyst, has argued that XRP may need to trade in the three- or even four-digit range if it is to support large institutional transfers efficiently. The thesis is built around slippage, not sentiment. In this view, price matters because execution quality matters.
The example used is a $3 billion cross-border transfer. Institutions generally want market impact kept near 2% or less. If liquidity is not deep enough, an order of that size can move the market sharply while it is being filled, making the transfer too expensive to justify. At lower XRP prices, the transaction needs far more tokens. That is where the problem starts.
Low prices mean far larger token volumes
According to the analysis, an XRP price of $0.60 would require about 5 billion XRP to move $3 billion in value. The analyst estimates that such volume could create 40% to 70% slippage, a level that would make the trade impractical.
At $10, the required size drops to roughly 300 million tokens, but estimated slippage still sits around 15% to 25%. That remains well above what most institutions would accept. At $100, the transfer would involve about 30 million XRP, bringing slippage down to roughly 1% to 3%, which the analyst describes as closer to workable for some use cases.
Higher prices could ease pressure on market depth
The argument becomes much stronger at $1,000. At that level, the same $3 billion transfer would require only about 3 million tokens, with slippage falling below 0.1%. Based on that math, the analyst says XRP would be closer to institutional-grade standards for cost and execution.
The broader point is about market structure. A higher asset price reduces the number of units needed for the same notional transaction, which places less strain on order books and can tighten spreads. For large-scale payment flows, especially cross-border settlements, that change could materially affect whether the asset is usable at size.
A proposed loop between utility, price, and liquidity
Future XRP also argues that banks and institutions are unlikely to scale solutions such as on-demand liquidity unless execution is consistently fast, predictable, and cost-efficient relative to existing systems. Under that framework, price appreciation is presented not only as a market outcome but as a possible operating requirement.
The analyst closes with a feedback-loop theory: more real-world usage creates buying pressure, higher prices improve liquidity conditions, and better execution could draw in more institutional demand. The idea remains debated, but it shifts the XRP valuation discussion toward slippage, order-book depth, and transaction mechanics rather than narrative alone.
