Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has once again made headlines in the crypto community, but this time for a catastrophic trading loss. His Hyperliquid account was fully liquidated after a leveraged bitcoin (BTC) long position collapsed, resulting in a cumulative loss of $794,000. According to on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain, this marks Tate's 84th liquidation on the platform.

Liquidation Details: 84th Wipeout, 35.53% Win Rate

Lookonchain reported that Tate's final liquidation occurred on November 21, 2025, when a BTC long position was wiped out barely an hour after it was opened. The influencer's trading track record is dismal — his win rate stands at just 35.53% over the past year. His single largest loss was $235,000 on November 14, when a BTC long with 40x leverage was liquidated. The data firm noted that Tate consistently attempted to “buy the dip,” betting on a price rebound, but market movements repeatedly worked against him.

Market Carnage: BTC Drops to $80.5K, $2B in Liquidations

Tate's losses coincided with a broader market downturn. Bitcoin suffered a sustained downward slide, hitting a low of $80,500 on November 21. That day, nearly 400,000 traders were liquidated across major exchanges, wiping out approximately $2 billion in leveraged positions. While BTC has since partially recovered to trade around $86,000 as of November 24, the flash crash cemented heavy losses for over-leveraged traders — including Tate.

Public Response: Tate Sidesteps Losses, Pushes ZK Privacy

Rather than acknowledging his failed high-stakes bets, Tate shifted the narrative in a video posted on X. “Right now, crypto is down, stocks are down, but it’s all coming back and when it does, the new meta is going to be privacy,” he said. Tate claimed that artificial intelligence algorithms being trained by tech giants would be used to control information and money, specifically tracking crypto transactions. He argued that zero-knowledge (ZK) proof-based privacy solutions are the future, allowing users to transact without government surveillance. Notably, Tate and his brother Tristan continue to face ongoing trafficking and rape charges, though this has not deterred him from engaging with the crypto community.

As of press time, Tate's Hyperliquid account is zeroed out. Whether his pivot to ZK privacy will repair his reputation remains to be seen.
