Antora Energy, a thermal energy storage startup, has closed a $550 million Series C round at an estimated valuation of about $2.47 billion. The company said it will use the new capital to scale production of its modular thermal batteries, with a focus on industrial customers and data centers.
Before this round, Antora had raised more than $230 million in total, including a $150 million Series B in 2024 led by Decarbonization Partners. Founded in 2018, the company has been expanding its manufacturing footprint and project pipeline. In April this year, it doubled manufacturing capacity in California. It is also deploying what was described as the world’s largest thermal energy storage project in South Dakota, with total capacity of 5 GWh.
