The funds will support the site's operations for 12 months as it scales its reporting to become the go-to news source for the Ape ecosystem.

According to the proposal, the Bored Ape Gazette has been operating since June 1, 2021 and has seen “exponential growth” over the past year. The operator—currently the site’s sole writer and editor—pledged to “keep the community better informed” by increasing output from 1-2 stories per day to 3-5 stories, along with bi-weekly newsletters and in-depth reports. The Apecoin DAO official Twitter account acknowledged the passage of AIP-70, thanking participants in the governance process.
The $150K budget covers content production, editorial work, and technical costs. Coverage will expand across BAYC, Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), Meetbits, Yuga Labs, Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC), and key NFT marketplaces. The publication also plans to interview AIP authors and community members debating specific proposals.
