Apple and A24 are in the early stages of developing a film adaptation of Michael Lewis’s book “Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon”, according to a report from Variety. The project is being co-developed and co-produced by Apple Studios and A24, with Lena Dunham attached to write the screenplay.

The film is expected to explore the dramatic rise and collapse of crypto exchange FTX, while also tracing the story of its founder, Sam Bankman-Fried. Lewis’s book, which was released in October 2023, quickly became a New York Times bestseller and has since become one of the best-known narrative accounts tied to the FTX saga.

Screen Interest in FTX Keeps Growing

The planned feature adds to a broader wave of entertainment projects centered on Bankman-Fried and the downfall of FTX. Amazon has already ordered a limited series focused on the exchange’s collapse. In addition, another streaming service is reportedly preparing its own limited series, with a recent Emmy winner said to be under consideration to play Bankman-Fried.

The growing competition around FTX-related adaptations shows how the story has expanded beyond crypto and into mainstream culture. Its appeal lies not only in the spectacular failure of a once-dominant exchange, but also in the larger themes surrounding founder mythology, investor enthusiasm, and the fallout that followed one of the industry’s most consequential collapses.
