Axie Infinity Codex Season 1 officially launched on April 6, 2026, introducing a seasonal structure that ties together story progression, quests, and rewards inside Lunacia. The update adds a new seasonal currency, Spirit Clay, and lets players unlock Codex content with bAXS. One lore path costs 4 bAXS, while the full season pass is priced at 12 bAXS.
Three standalone lore paths focus on Golems and Spirit Clay
Season 1 brings three separate story paths that can be played in any order. The stories center on the history of the Golems and on Spirit Clay, which is described as a force reshaping Lunacia. The three paths named by the project are Kei and the First Golem, The Golems of War, and The Black Kiln. Completing quests inside these paths advances the narrative and also unlocks in-game rewards.
According to the release details, players earn more Spirit Clay and bAXS as they progress. Those choosing the Premier path can also unlock exclusive accessories and backgrounds for their Axies. That shifts Codex away from being a lore-only feature and turns it into a progression layer connected to rewards, collection, and customization.
Quest rerolls and custom pools expand the seasonal loop
Competition is also a key part of the update. The developers said a combined 7,000 bAXS prize pool will be distributed across several campaigns. One of the newly added features is a mini-game designed to reward players who take risks and play more dynamically, though no additional parameters were provided in the source material.
The Bounty Board has been upgraded as well. Players can now reroll quests they do not want, or select custom game pools that better match their preferred playstyle. If a player still holds a Codex Orb from earlier events, it can now be used to speed up progression and unlock rewards faster.
Community participation can increase prize pools
The update also links reward growth to player activity. As more users join the lore paths, the prize pools increase. Another new mechanic lets players convert Fortune Slips into Spirit Clay and use it at The Black Kiln, adding a resource management layer to daily routines.
The team said the story tied to Spirit Clay develops alongside player progress. Season 1 is currently available through the official app, and users were advised to monitor official channels for any changes to reward distribution and quest requirements.
