Babylon Foundation is deploying $3 million in USDT to Aave as DeFi markets work through recent stress. The allocation is split across two versions of the lending protocol: $2 million to Aave V3 and $1 million to Aave V4. The move follows liquidity dislocations linked to the recent rsETH disruption and serves as a direct liquidity contribution to Aave.

$2 Million for V3, $1 Million for V4

Babylon said the commitment reflects its long-term view on decentralized finance as well as support for Aave itself. The project has focused on bringing native bitcoin into onchain financial use, and placing capital into an established lending venue gives that strategy a clear route.

The structure of the deposit stands out. Babylon said it will not keep any yield generated by the funds. Instead, 100% of the interest will be sent back into the Aave ecosystem through joint incentive programs connected to a planned Aave-Babylon integration. That means the same capital is intended to support liquidity now while also backing future user adoption.

Support Arrives After rsETH Market Stress

The commitment comes as DeFi participants continue to respond to the fallout from the rsETH event. According to the source material, the disruption shifted liquidity across major lending platforms and pushed protocols and industry figures to coordinate resources around stabilization efforts.

Aave founder Stani Kulechov has also backed a broader recovery push called DeFi United. The initiative is open for contributions and is aimed at directing resources toward restoring stability around rsETH while promoting safer practices across the ecosystem. Babylon's deposit adds another piece to that response.

Bitcoin-Focused Capital Moves Deeper Into DeFi

For Babylon, the deposit also reinforces a strategic link between bitcoin-centered projects and DeFi lending infrastructure. The project has framed its mission around expanding bitcoin's role beyond passive holding and into active onchain finance. Aave offers an immediate venue for that effort. While $3 million is modest relative to Aave's total liquidity, the signal is still meaningful at a time when capital support from established participants can influence confidence.
