A 41-year-old Russian man was abducted in Bali and forced to surrender access to his cryptocurrency accounts, according to a report cited by ChainCatcher from Bali Discovery. The man was riding his motorcycle home from work when a black Nissan Serena stopped him. Two masked attackers allegedly restrained him with plastic handcuffs, covered his head, and took him to a two-story house. He was reportedly held for around 30 hours and assaulted during the captivity. The attackers forced him to reveal his crypto account password, took his phone, and then used a villa key found on his motorcycle to enter his residence. They allegedly seized a second phone there to gain more access to his accounts. At around 4 a.m. on July 4, the man was abandoned near Udayana University Hospital in Jimbaran and later received medical treatment. Bali police spokesperson Ariasandy said authorities had received the report and were making every effort to locate and arrest the suspects.
