CLAWD, a meme coin on Base, has drawn heavy attention after a sharp price run and an eye-catching early trade. Data cited from on-chain trading platform GMGN shows that one trader entered the position with just $289.78. In less than two days, the wallet had already sold part of the holdings for $7,871.44 while still retaining about $43,000 worth of CLAWD, leaving combined realized and unrealized profit above 170x. The source material also states that CLAWD’s market capitalization has held around $30 million.
Base social activity added fuel to the move
Part of the recent momentum came from Base’s official X account, which mentioned CLAWD multiple times between last night and this morning and interacted actively with related posts. Traders and community members have treated those interactions as one of the drivers behind the token’s continued climb. The result was a fast pickup in visibility, both on social platforms and on-chain.
The narrative traces back to Clawdbot, not an official token launch
CLAWD’s narrative is tied to Clawdbot, an open-source personal AI assistant that has recently gained traction in Silicon Valley and developer circles. The project has since been renamed Moltbot. It was developed by AppLovin co-founder Peter Steinberger and is described as a self-hosted AI agent that runs locally on Mac, Windows, and Linux, with access to the terminal, file system, and integrations with tools such as WhatsApp and Telegram.
That background does not make the token official. The material notes that an earlier meme token using the Clawdbot story appeared on Solana, and later a separate community-issued token under the same name emerged on Base as CLAWD / CLAWDBASE (clawd.atg.eth). Steinberger has repeatedly said that he will “never” launch a token, and that any project presenting him as a holder or calling itself an official coin is a scam. The current Base version of CLAWD has no official endorsement from Base, Anthropic, or the Clawdbot/Moltbot team.
Community-issued token with a game-style reward structure
Based on the project details cited in the source, CLAWD on Base is a community-issued token built around the AI agent clawd.atg.eth. The setup includes a promise that part of the trading fees will be sent to the clawd.atg.eth wallet, framing the token around an “AI assistant economy” or an “AI agent fee” story.
The token also uses a mechanism similar to Fomo3D. Users spend CLAWD to buy keys, and every key purchase resets a countdown to 30 minutes. At the same time, 10% of each purchase amount is burned immediately. Once the timer expires, the address that bought the last key receives 40% of the CLAWD prize pool. During settlement, 30% of the pool is permanently burned. Of the remainder, 25% is distributed to all key holders and 5% goes to the development treasury.
The speed of the move has turned CLAWD into one of the more closely watched meme coin trades on Base. The same source also warns that these high-multiple gains can come with sharp drawdowns and thinner liquidity, making position management a central issue for anyone trading the token.
