BingX, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3-AI company, has partnered with Save the Children Hong Kong to fund the “Safety Nets and Resilient Families” program in the Western Balkans. The initiative targets children in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina who face migration, poverty, and social exclusion. This marks Save the Children Hong Kong’s first collaboration with a cryptocurrency company.
Cash Vouchers and Community Drop-in Centres
In Bosnia and Herzegovina—a key transit country on the so-called Balkans route—migrant children and families endure severe hardships. Save the Children is the only organization providing cash voucher assistance as a core child protection tool there. BingX’s support will enable the distribution of cash vouchers and essential non-food items to refugee and migrant children, helping families meet daily needs while preserving dignity.
The partnership also funds community-based drop-in centres run by local NGO partners. One in five children in Serbia lives at risk of poverty or exclusion; in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one in three children faces consumption-based poverty. These centres serve children in informal settlements, those engaged in street work, and those at risk of violence and child marriage. Services include nutritious meals, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, educational guidance, legal aid, and family-strengthening programs, all delivered by trained child protection professionals.
Voices from the Ground
Nevena Milutinovic, Save the Children Northwest Balkans Country Director, said: “Every child deserves to be protected and have a chance at a better future—and together with our partners, we work to make sure they grow up supported and included. Children tell us that support like cash vouchers and community centres means much more than basic services. These interventions ensure they feel seen, make friends, feel secure, access education, and reclaim their childhood.” Pablo Monti, BingX Spokesperson, added: “Innovation creates its greatest value when it helps address real-world challenges. Through our partnership with Save the Children, we are proud to help protect the future by supporting children facing poverty, displacement, and social exclusion. This is part of BingX’s broader commitment to education, inclusion, and community resilience globally.”
