Crypto markets split sharply on Wednesday. Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.0% over 24 hours to $75,811.24, while Ethereum (ETH) dropped 0.7% to $2,077.55 and XRP slipped 0.5% to $1.33. Even with prices softening, trading activity stayed heavy across major assets: BTC held more than $37.5 billion in daily volume, ETH topped $15.3 billion, and XRP generated over $1.55 billion.

The price action pointed to a clear rotation. Traders moved capital away from larger cryptocurrencies and into smaller, more volatile tokens that were posting stronger short-term gains.

Large caps weaken while Dogecoin posts a modest gain

Other major tokens also traded lower. BNB declined 0.5% to $651.87, and Solana (SOL) lost 0.2% to $83.91 while still recording more than $2.66 billion in daily volume. TRON (TRX) was flat at $0.373, with volume above $618 million.

Dogecoin (DOGE) stood apart from that broader weakness. DOGE rose 0.8% to $0.1019 and logged more than $717 million in daily trading volume, making it one of the few widely followed tokens to finish the session in positive territory.

RAIN leads the rally as REQ and OSMO attract active buying

The strongest moves came from smaller-cap names. Rain (RAIN) jumped 44.0% in 24 hours with trading volume above $42 million. Request (REQ) followed with a 40.6% gain and more than $35.5 million in daily volume. Osmosis (OSMO) climbed 29.9% and processed over $52 million.

Several other lesser-known tokens also posted large advances. Solstice (SLX) rose 22.8%, SAFEbit (SAFE) added 22.2%, and Micron Technology Ondo Tokenized Stock (MUON) gained 21.8% to trade near $940.57.

Performance gap widens across the market

Wednesday's session showed a wider gap between large-cap cryptocurrencies and speculative lower-cap assets. Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and BNB all struggled to regain momentum, while smaller tokens drew aggressive buying and delivered much larger percentage gains within the same trading window.
