Bitcoin ETF Inflows Signal Potential Institutional Shift

According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETF products attracted $568.45 million in net inflows this week, following $787 million the prior week. This marks the first back-to-back weekly gains since January 16, ending a five-month slump. While the inflows are smaller than last year’s peaks, the renewed buying sentiment is encouraging after a prolonged period of outflows. The Coinbase Premium Index on Friday showed selling pressure on Bitcoin had eased, though strong institutional demand has not yet materialized. Sustained ETF inflows suggest appetite may rebound soon. If this streak extends into a third consecutive week, it could signal a trend reversal.

Bitcoin continues to hold support at the $66,000 level, with consolidation expected to persist. Should ETF backing strengthen, the current consolidation could resolve upward, potentially pushing the price past $79,300 and toward $81,500 to the upside.

Ethereum ETFs: Modest Inflow, Hints of Long-Term Holding

Ethereum ETF performance remains mixed. This week saw a modest $23.56 million net inflow, ending four consecutive weeks of outflows. However, the inflow is too weak to declare a turnaround. Notably, investors who entered around July last year have largely become long-term holders. Net inflows back then were $5.43 billion in July and $3.87 billion in August. Though subsequent outflows have persisted, they have not erased the earlier gains, which is a positive sign for Ethereum ETFs.

Altcoin ETF Flows: SOL Shines, XRP Bleeds, DOGE Dormant

  • XRP ETFs: Recorded $4 million in outflows, with a single-day selloff of $16.62 million on March 6—the largest since January 29. Cumulative net inflows remain at $1.24 billion.
  • Solana ETFs: Continued their consistent inflow streak, attracting $24.05 million this week, bringing total net inflows to $957 million. SOL ETFs have seen net investments almost every week since launch.
  • DOGE ETFs: Largely inactive, underscoring limited institutional appeal for meme coin ETFs outside of bullish markets.
  • Chainlink ETFs: Showed steady but modest inflows, with $2.87 million added this week.

Overall, institutional demand for crypto ETFs is diverging. Bitcoin and SOL attract consistent capital, Ethereum lags, XRP faces outflows, and meme coins remain ignored. The coming week’s data will be critical in determining whether the rebound is sustainable.
