Cryptocurrency ETF markets exhibited pronounced divergence on Tuesday, with major products such as Bitcoin and Ether ETFs sliding back into negative territory, while smaller altcoin ETFs like Solana and XRP quietly attracted fresh capital. The data underscores a selective shift in investor sentiment, rather than a broad risk-on move.
Bitcoin ETFs Bleed $74.5 Million
Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a net outflow of $74.53 million on Tuesday, reversing the modest inflows seen early in the week. Fidelity's FBTC led the decline with a $45.35 million withdrawal, accounting for the bulk of the selling pressure. Bitwise's BITB followed with $16.60 million in outflows, while VanEck's HODL and BlackRock's IBIT shed $7.86 million and $4.72 million, respectively. No meaningful inflows emerged to offset the withdrawals. Trading volume held steady at $3.03 billion, but net assets declined to $89.74 billion. Despite the recent volatility, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted that Bitcoin ETFs are still $2.5 billion positive for the month and just one strong day away from fully recovering year-to-date outflows.
Ether ETFs Retreat $40.8 Million
Ether ETFs followed a similar trajectory, posting net outflows of $40.80 million. BlackRock's ETHA once again led the downturn, losing $24.97 million. Grayscale's Ether Mini Trust recorded a $10.02 million exit, while Fidelity's FETH saw $5.81 million in withdrawals. Additional outflows came from Grayscale's ETHE ($1.72 million) and Bitwise's ETHW ($1.52 million). However, a few products bucked the trend: BlackRock's ETHB continued its steady inflow streak with $2.18 million, and 21Shares' TETH added $1.06 million. Total trading volume for Ether ETFs stood at $1.03 billion, with net assets closing at $12.46 billion.
XRP ETFs Gain $1.4 Million
XRP ETF inflows remained modest but positive, totaling $1.40 million, driven entirely by Bitwise's XRP product. The category saw trading activity of $13.87 million, while net assets settled at $978.92 million.
Solana ETFs Lead Altcoin Gains with $4.64 Million Inflow
Solana ETFs recorded the strongest relative performance among altcoin funds, attracting total net inflows of $4.64 million. Bitwise's BSOL led with $2.97 million, Franklin's SOEZ contributed $1.53 million, and Invesco's QSOL added a smaller $133,250. Trading volume reached $47.15 million, with net assets at $881.53 million.
Market Outlook: Selective Rotation Gains Momentum
The Tuesday data point to a clear bifurcation: Bitcoin and Ether ETFs continue to face uneven demand, while smaller altcoin ETFs are capturing selective capital. This is not a broad risk-on shift but rather a sign that investors are becoming more discerning, seeking diversification or short-term opportunities outside the two largest cryptocurrencies. The rotation, though still small in absolute terms, is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
