Cryptocurrency prices split sharply over the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP moving lower while a group of smaller-cap tokens posted outsized gains. Trading activity stayed elevated. The stronger momentum was concentrated in speculative names rather than in the market’s largest assets.
Large caps retreat while liquidity remains strong
Bitcoin fell 0.7% in 24 hours to $87,971.07, with trading volume at $52.48 billion and market capitalization near $1.75 trillion. Ethereum dropped 1.2% to $2,901.50, supported by $31.92 billion in volume, while its market capitalization held at $350.18 billion.
BNB slipped 0.6% to $873.79, with $1.44 billion in trading volume and market capitalization near $119.19 billion. XRP also declined 0.7%, trading at $1.88. Its daily volume reached $3.24 billion, supporting a market capitalization of $114.44 billion.
Solana recorded one of the bigger pullbacks among large-cap tokens, falling 2.8% to $122.73. Trading volume came in at $6.61 billion, and market capitalization eased to $69.48 billion. Cardano lost 2.1% to trade at $0.3479, with market capitalization at $12.79 billion. Dogecoin declined 1.0% to $0.1216, while volume reached $1.15 billion.
Small-cap names surge as speculative interest shifts
The strongest moves came from smaller tokens. GXChain (GXC) surged 90.2% to $1.14. Bitlayer (BTR) climbed 80.0% to $0.1219, with trading volume above $34.34 million.
River (RIVER) advanced 39.3% to $82.88, and its trading volume rose past $90.46 million. Bounce (AUCTION) gained 35.8% to $7.09. Surge (SURGE) added 35.6% to $0.1076, while Gleec Coin (GLEEC) rose 27.5% to $0.1325.
The contrast was clear through the session: large-cap cryptocurrencies weakened, but selected smaller tokens attracted fast-moving speculative flows. Bitcoin and Ethereum still held deep liquidity and dominant market value, yet the most aggressive price action shifted to smaller-cap assets during the day.
