Bitcoin is trading around the $70,000 level as markets turn their attention to the timeline for US-Iran ceasefire talks. According to the report, President Donald Trump is expected to make what could be his final public remarks of the day at 10:30 p.m. local time, after which traders will watch whether a ceasefire agreement is signed by 3:00 a.m. Wednesday. If that deadline passes without a deal, the US has indicated it could move against Iran’s energy infrastructure. Federal Reserve meeting minutes are also due soon after, leaving crypto markets exposed to two immediate volatility triggers at once.
Sentiment swings from fear to short-term greed
Santiment has flagged a sharp shift in market psychology. Just one day earlier, the firm said sentiment had turned deeply negative and that a reversal was possible. It has now issued a FOMO alert, saying greed has climbed to its highest level in roughly three months. The company said social media data show traders increasingly expect gains to continue, while crowd optimism at that level often opens the door to a move in the opposite direction. Santiment also warned that if the geopolitical turmoil continues and no ceasefire is reached, a second bearish signal could be activated.
The setup looks similar to the previous warning, but the expected direction has changed. This time the concern is not an upside move, but renewed weakness.
Riot Platforms' 500 BTC transfer draws attention
Market participants are also watching miner behavior. Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms recently transferred 500 BTC, a move that has been interpreted as a sign that miners may see the current rally as a selling opportunity. That reading has added to concern that downside pressure is building. A single transfer does not define a trend on its own, but in a market already dealing with geopolitical uncertainty and elevated optimism, such transactions can carry extra weight.
Analyst keeps focus on lower levels
Crypto analyst Roman Trading remains bearish on the broader structure. He said short-term outcomes can vary, yet higher-timeframe charts still show no evidence of a wider reversal. In his view, Bitcoin remains rangebound, downside momentum is still in place, and rising prices have been accompanied by low trading volume. He argues that these conditions fit an ongoing macro downtrend. Based on his latest chart, he expects Bitcoin to break below $51,000 in the near term.
For now, the market is centered on a tight cluster of catalysts: whether ceasefire talks produce a deal before the deadline, how the Fed minutes affect risk appetite, and whether an overheated sentiment backdrop leads to a move against consensus positioning. Those factors are all landing within a matter of hours.
