River Financial analyst Sam Wouters had earlier estimated Bitcoin would enter the zettahash era (1,000 EH/s) by end of 2025; at the current pace, that milestone could arrive around December 23, 2025, or early 2026.
Miners Face Revenue Pressure
Despite record hashrate, miner economics remain strained. As of October 15, 2023, the daily revenue per petahash per second (PH/s) stood below $60. Network difficulty is already elevated at 57.32 trillion, and the looming adjustment could push it past 61 trillion. This forces miners to rely on cutting-edge ASICs and cheap energy to stay profitable.
