Bitcoin-native financial platform Mezo has launched an enterprise-grade product, Mezo Prime, designed to help institutional holders and corporate treasuries earn yield and access loans on their Bitcoin holdings. Developed in partnership with Anchorage Digital Bank, the first federally chartered digital asset bank in the U.S., the product debuts with Bullish as its initial client, which has committed 250 BTC from its corporate treasury.

Bridging the Gap for Corporate Treasuries

Mezo Prime offers segregated custody, qualified custody, and protocol-based yield, targeting companies that have struggled to put their Bitcoin assets to work in accordance with institutional standards. Matt Luongo, co-founder of Mezo and CEO of Thesis, stated: "Today, over one million Bitcoin sits on corporate balance sheets, and almost none of it is working. Mezo Prime changes that—segregated custody via Anchorage Digital Bank, no rehypothecation, real yield from protocol activity. We built this for CFOs and treasury teams who already own these assets and are ready to deploy them on their own terms."

The core of the product consists of Enclaves—isolated Bitcoin vaults for each depositor, with custody provided by Anchorage Digital Bank. Assets can be locked as veBTC to earn protocol fees or used as collateral to borrow MUSD, Mezo's Bitcoin-backed stablecoin.

Institutional Security Meets On-Chain Yield

Nathan McCauley, co-founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital, commented: "Institutions want to do more with their Bitcoin, but not at the expense of security and control. Mezo Prime offers both—secure, segregated custody and direct access to on-chain yield in one platform." Taron Kapoor, Vice President at Bullish, added: "Bullish was built on the belief that institutional standards and digital asset participation are not at odds. The veBTC design is a great example of that philosophy in practice—reducing smart contract risk while keeping the underlying BTC safe."

Anchorage Digital earlier announced support for Mezo via its institutional custody wallet Porto, enabling clients to borrow at fixed rates against Bitcoin. The launch of Mezo Prime is expected to unlock over one million idle Bitcoin, accelerating the institutional adoption of Bitcoin-based financial products.
