Bitcoin pushed higher in Monday trading and reached a 24-hour peak of $79,486, putting the market within striking distance of the $80,000 level. Based on the source material, the move marks a rebound of more than 12% from the April 13 low of $70,678. Ether also advanced to $2,397, up 3.6% over the past 24 hours.

The sharp move hit short sellers hardest. CoinGlass data cited in the report shows that 74,375 traders were liquidated across the crypto market in the last 24 hours, with total liquidations reaching $212.09 million. Short positions made up $177.28 million, or 83.6% of the total, while long liquidations stood at $34.85 million. In the past hour alone, liquidations reached $62.20 million, including $59.05 million from shorts. The largest single liquidation was an ETHUSDT contract on Binance worth $11.98 million.

ETF inflows and easing risk concerns supported the rebound

The report ties the rally to several factors. One was softer geopolitical risk expectations, which helped lift broader risk assets. Another was continued spot Bitcoin ETF demand in the United States. As of April 23, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs had recorded net inflows for eight straight trading sessions, totaling $2.1 billion. Total assets under management rose above $102 billion, while cumulative inflows topped $58 billion.

Flows also appeared to spread into Ether. Spot Ether ETFs posted $187 million in net inflows for the previous week, the strongest weekly reading of 2026, according to the source. U.S. equities also added support. On April 25, the S&P 500 rose 0.8% to 7,165 and the Nasdaq gained 1.6% to 24,837, with both indexes closing at record highs.

Ether, SOL and XRP moved up as sentiment recovered

Major tokens outside Bitcoin also traded higher. SOL was quoted at $87.68, up 1.89% over 24 hours, with an intraday high of $87.85. XRP traded at $1.4429, up 1.54%, and touched $1.4443. Ether’s rebound was notable, but the report said it still had not reclaimed its April 18 high of $2,451.

Sentiment indicators improved as prices recovered. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index climbed to 47, back in neutral territory, after sitting at 33 a day earlier, 29 a week earlier, and 12 a month earlier. The source also noted that Kevin O’Leary said on April 22 that he planned to exit all altcoin holdings and keep only Bitcoin and Ether. Market attention is now centered on whether Bitcoin can clear $80,000 and on the outcome of the FOMC meeting at the end of April.
