Bitcoin is closing in on a rare signal on the weekly chart. Crypto Rover said BTC is nearing a death cross, a setup in which a shorter-term moving average drops below a longer-term one, and noted that the last time this appeared, the price went on to fall another 28%.
A weekly death cross does not show up as often as the same pattern on daily charts. Because of that, traders tend to treat it as a broader trend signal rather than a cue for short-term price swings. The source also made clear that chart signals do not decide price action on their own; liquidity conditions, macro factors, and institutional demand still matter.
Four-year cycle discussion returns
The analysis also pointed back to Bitcoin’s historical four-year cycle. If that pattern repeats, the current correction could stretch deeper into the later phase of this cycle. No fresh price target was attached to that view, but the focus has shifted from near-term rebound attempts to the risk of a longer pullback.
That is why the weekly structure is drawing extra attention now. When a less common setup starts to form, market participants usually watch the moving averages and subsequent price behavior more closely.
Strategy’s valuation premium disappears
The second issue drawing attention is Strategy. Wise Advice said the company’s modified net asset value ratio, or mNAV, fell below 1.0 for the first time in this cycle, meaning the company’s market capitalization is now lower than the market value of its Bitcoin holdings.
The debate centers on the gap between Strategy’s valuation and the value of the BTC on its balance sheet. The report said management had previously indicated that issuing new shares below roughly 1.22 mNAV could create losses for existing shareholders. That has raised questions about whether equity issuance remains a workable way to fund additional Bitcoin purchases at current levels.
Attention stays on Saylor’s next signal
Even with weaker technical signals on the chart, Michael Saylor has kept expectations alive for another Bitcoin purchase. His brief call for updated charts was read by some observers as a possible hint that more buying could be ahead. Strategy, previously known as MicroStrategy, is widely known for its large-scale Bitcoin accumulation policy.
For now, the market is watching two things at once: whether Bitcoin completes the weekly death cross, and whether Strategy’s next official statement or filing points to another purchase. Long-term chart pressure and corporate buying expectations are now sitting side by side.
