A long-term Bitcoin holder has fully exited a 5,000 BTC position after beginning sales in late 2024, according to on-chain tracking service Lookonchain. The wallet sold its remaining 1,000 BTC around two hours before the report, with the transaction valued at $65.56 million. Lookonchain said the holder originally acquired the 5,000 BTC 12 years ago at a price of $332 per coin, putting the total cost basis at about $1.66 million. The address started selling on Nov. 26, 2024, and ultimately disposed of the full holding at an average sale price of roughly $87,151 per BTC. That put the total value of the sales at about $436 million. Based on those figures, the holder realized an estimated profit of $434 million, representing a 262x return over the original purchase cost.

The on-chain analytics account said the holder sold the final 1,000 BTC around two hours before the report. The last tranche was worth $65.56 million.
