Institutional Capital Pours Into Bitcoin ETFs, Extending Inflow Streak
Bitcoin spot ETFs in the United States recorded net inflows for a fifth consecutive day on Wednesday, marking a sustained surge of institutional interest. Data from SoSoValue shows that the funds collectively pulled in $46.3 million during the session. When combined with the previous four trading days, the total addition over the streak approaches $1.7 billion. This consistent buying underscores a rising risk appetite among institutional investors in the crypto space.
The current momentum could soon translate into a milestone: if the week ends with net positive flows, it will be the sixth consecutive week of gains for these ETFs, the longest such run since July 2025. Market participants view this as a critical signal that institutions are increasingly comfortable with digital assets.
BlackRock's IBIT Dominates While Other Funds Face Redemptions
Despite the overall positive picture, fund-level performance varied sharply. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) shined with a powerful $134 million single-day inflow, effectively shouldering the majority of Wednesday's gains. In contrast, four other ETFs—including Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC)—experienced net outflows, highlighting a diverging preference among investors for different providers.
Nick Ruck, Director of Research at LVRG Research, commented that the current wave of ETF inflows reflects a deepening optimism toward Bitcoin among institutional players. "They are increasingly viewing Bitcoin as a strategic long-term asset rather than a short-term speculative tool," he said. This mental shift, according to Ruck, fuels hopes for the initiation of the next bull market cycle.
Ethereum ETFs Join the Party, Broader Market Rebounds
The positive sentiment extended beyond Bitcoin. Ethereum spot ETFs also attracted $11.6 million in net new money on Wednesday, achieving a fourth straight day of inflows and accumulating approximately $271.6 million over that period. This indicates that institutional capital is diversifying into other major crypto assets.
The ETF inflows coincide with a broader recovery across cryptocurrency markets. Bitcoin has climbed from a trough around $62,000 in February to trade above $80,000 again, posting a 26% gain over the past three months. Nick Ruck emphasized that sustained institutional buying has played a central role in propelling prices and enhancing market stability, paving the way for further mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.
