Bitcoin remains stuck near $60,000 as buyers show limited conviction. Even with US stocks rising on hopes of easing US-Iran tensions, on-chain data and shrinking capital inflows point to a defensive market and higher volatility risk.

Bitcoin is still locked in a fight around $60,000. TradingView data showed BTC briefly tried to push above that level during the day, but the move lost steam quickly, leaving price action choppy and short-term positioning defensive.

Glassnode said buyers have not yet shown the conviction needed for a solid recovery, which has left Bitcoin trading sideways near local lows. Trader Daan Crypto Trades made a similar point, noting that BTC is moving in a narrow range close to its June lows, with the $60,000 area repeatedly capping upside. He added that the lower boundary on the chart has been edging higher, but said that alone does not signal a decisive shift in strength.

US stock gains fail to trigger stronger crypto follow-through

US President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that Iran had requested a meeting, scheduled for Tuesday in Doha. The announcement lifted hopes that tensions between the US and Iran could ease, helping the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite begin the week in positive territory.

QCP Capital said both sides appear to be stepping back for now, yet uncertainty remains. The firm pointed to oil holding in the low $70 range as a sign of cautious optimism that geopolitical stress could cool further. Still, the risk has not disappeared. QCP also warned that a renewed climb in oil prices remains a key pressure point for crypto assets. WTI crude dropped below $68 per barrel on Friday before recovering to above $70.

Thin liquidity keeps volatility risk in focus

QCP Capital also reminded investors that US markets will be closed on Friday, while US-Iran negotiations are still fluid. In that kind of low-liquidity setting, price swings can become sharper, and the firm said that pattern was already visible over the previous weekend.

On-chain analytics platform Glassnode said Bitcoin network data has become more balanced than in earlier periods, but the market is still in a phase of structural adjustment. The platform reported shrinking capital inflows and more defensive positioning from participants. Its monitoring framework tracks investor behavior through blockchain metrics, including transaction activity, wallet movements, and signals tied to spot and derivatives markets.

On-chain signals show a waiting market

Glassnode said a growing share of supply is now held by more speculative investors, increasing the odds of larger price swings. The platform added that without clearer improvement in buyer confidence, especially in spot flows, derivatives positioning, and institutional demand, Bitcoin is unlikely to sustain a lasting rally.

The tone remains cautious. Many traders are waiting for a stronger signal before making larger moves. Macro headlines and geopolitical developments are still steering day-to-day action, but the absence of persistent buying has kept Bitcoin trapped in a tight range. Analysts also warned that if liquidity conditions shift suddenly or an outside catalyst hits the market, volatility could rise quickly.
