Bitcoin Suisse has secured a Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of ADGM in Abu Dhabi, giving its subsidiary BTCS (Middle East) Ltd. the ability to offer regulated digital asset financial services in the UAE. The approval moves the firm’s Middle East expansion from planning into execution, with the local unit focused on institutional and professional clients.
License clears BTCS ME to offer regulated digital asset services
The company said the permission followed a multi-stage licensing process. With the FSP in place, BTCS ME can deliver a regulated suite of services for sophisticated market participants, including management and hedging of digital asset exposure, institutional-grade custody, and trading in approved virtual assets. The offering is designed to operate within a compliant framework and includes support from dedicated relationship managers.
Bitcoin Suisse also said the Abu Dhabi entity is positioned to help clients access tokenized real-world assets in the future. For now, the emphasis is on building a regulated digital asset financial infrastructure tailored to institutional requirements in the UAE.
Firm enters the UAE with more than a decade of market experience
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Zug, Bitcoin Suisse said it brings more than 10 years of experience across multiple digital asset market cycles. The group currently safeguards $3.7 billion in crypto assets and ranks as the fourth-largest staking operator globally, figures it presented as part of its institutional credentials for the UAE market.
According to the company, its broader platform serves institutional clients, digital asset foundations, family offices, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals through trading, custody, staking, and lending services. The group has more than 200 employees across Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the United Arab Emirates, and Bermuda.
Middle East push led by senior group executive
BTCS ME is led by Chief Executive Officer and Senior Executive Officer Ceyda Majcen, who is overseeing the group’s expansion in the Middle East. Bitcoin Suisse said she brings long-standing senior leadership experience from within the organization.
Majcen described the FSP as a major milestone in the company’s international growth strategy. She said the authorization reflects more than a decade spent building infrastructure, risk frameworks, and client relationships, and added that the firm aims to bring its mix of institutional-grade capabilities and personalized service to one of the world’s most active digital asset hubs.
ADGM says approval adds to the strength of its digital asset ecosystem
ADGM also commented on the approval, saying Bitcoin Suisse’s expansion into the financial center supports the strength and maturity of its digital assets ecosystem. The authority said the market continues to attract global institutions looking for regulatory clarity, access, and long-term growth opportunities, while ADGM remains committed to innovation within a robust and internationally recognized regulatory structure.
The new authorization shows Bitcoin Suisse extending its custody, trading, and staking model beyond Europe, with Abu Dhabi now serving as a key base in the group’s wider international growth plan.
