Bitcoin's strong first half of 2023, surging 80% against the U.S. dollar, has fueled intense speculation about its year-end price. Two new reports from Techopedia and Changelly present starkly contrasting forecasts: Techopedia expects the top to be only $25,175 per BTC, while Changelly's bullish scenario targets $40,836.
Techopedia: Cautious Outlook with $25K Ceiling
Techopedia analyst Michael Graw highlights declining summer trading volume and stalled momentum. In the worst case, BTC could test support at $18,650 or revisit the 2022 low of $15,760. The report is also bearish for 2024, projecting a range of $15,500 to $31,000. Looking further out to 2030, Techopedia's estimates span from $30,000 to $100,000, reflecting high uncertainty.
Changelly: Bullish Bet with $40K Target
Changelly's analysis is far more optimistic, offering three year-end 2023 price points: a low of $35,608, an average of $37,149, and a high of $40,836. The report also predicts that BTC could reach $36,438 by July 31, 2023, a 20%+ surge from current levels. For 2024, Changelly expects a minimum of $51,084 and an average of $52,941, though the maximum of $61,458 still falls short of the 2021 all-time high. The six-digit milestone is not expected until 2026, with a projected range of $79,423 to $88,660 in 2025.
Diverse Voices in the Market
Earlier in January 2023, a Finder.com panel of 56 experts forecast a year-end peak of just $29,095—already surpassed as BTC trades above $31,000. Meanwhile, six AI chatbots surveyed by Bitcoin.com News gave estimates ranging from $30,000 to $50,000. These divergent views underscore the deep uncertainty surrounding Bitcoin's short- and long-term trajectory. Investors are advised to monitor macroeconomic conditions, regulatory developments, and institutional flows before making decisions.
