BitcoinOS (BOS), self-described as the “operating system for building everything on Bitcoin,” has revealed plans to unify Bitcoin and Cardano into a single interoperable network via a novel token standard. The announcement coincides with a stealth presale of its native $BOS token, which some X users are calling a “second chance” to get in early on Bitcoin’s expanding ecosystem.

BitcoinOS Aims to Merge Bitcoin and Cardano

“Imagine Cardano wallets managing Bitcoin assets, Cardano DAOs executing on Bitcoin, and tokens living equally on both chains,” the BitcoinOS X account posted. The project made headlines in October with promises to build a trustless bridge between Bitcoin and Cardano using zero-knowledge cryptography. Its Grail Bridge is already live on testnet for EVM environments, with Cardano integration scheduled for later.

Cardano, a top-10 blockchain by market cap, has been positioning itself as a key Bitcoin DeFi player. Founder Charles Hoskinson advocates for hybrid applications leveraging Bitcoin’s capital through Cardano’s “babel fees” system, allowing users to pay transaction fees in BTC instead of ADA. BitcoinOS notes that Cardano shares Bitcoin’s UTXO model, enabling unique synergies beyond bridging that other chains cannot match.

$BOS Token Presale Goes Live in Stealth

The presale for $BOS has reportedly started in “stealth” mode within its core community, offering the best prices to early participants. Contributor Edan Yago previously described $BOS as a programmable token built on Bitcoin using the new standard. The token is framed as the “binding energy” connecting major crypto ecosystems, secured by Bitcoin’s infrastructure.

X users @JefferyCrypt and @TheDeFiPlug compared the presale to buying “Ethereum at $1 in 2015” or “Solana at $0.60 in 2020.” User @Donnie100x wrote: “$BOS is the key to the entire ecosystem: fueling smart contracts, rollups, and the first real DeFi economy on Bitcoin. The presale already went live secretly and will remain live on March 7th.”

Last month, Bitcoin.com reported the Grail Bridge app launch ahead of the presale, underscoring BitcoinOS’s focus on trustless scaling. The roadmap targets a Q2 2025 launch for $BOS, alongside audits for BitSNARK and a token standard whitepaper. Those interested in the presale can access it at origins.market. Further details are available in a blog post on the BitcoinOS website, with community channels on Discord and Telegram open for questions.
