Bitget used its eighth anniversary to outline how its Universal Exchange, or UEX, strategy is expanding beyond crypto into a broader trading setup that includes traditional financial products and institutional services. The company said that during peak trading periods, non-crypto assets accounted for 40% of total platform volume, while daily volume in TradFi perpetuals and contracts for difference each topped $10 billion. It also highlighted the rollout of stock perpetuals, U.S. stock options and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts, alongside growth in its tokenized stock product rToken. According to the company, rToken surpassed $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch and has now recorded more than 3 million cumulative trades. Bitget also said one in four new users on the platform starts trading with rToken. On the risk and transparency side, the exchange expanded the number of verifiable assets in its Proof of Reserves program from four to 24, while its Protection Fund had an average valuation of about $382 million in August 2026. Looking ahead, Bitget said institutional trading services will be a major focus in its ninth year, after institutional client net assets rose 45% from the end of 2025 to the second quarter of 2026 and core active market makers increased from 90 to 248.

Bitget used its eighth anniversary to look back at how its trading products have widened over the last eight years, while also spelling out what comes next across crypto, traditional financial markets, and institutional trading services. The company called itself the world’s largest Universal Exchange, or UEX.

UEX strategy expands across more markets

Bitget said it pushed its UEX strategy harder over the past year by putting more global markets onto one trading platform. At peak trading times, non-crypto assets made up 40% of total platform trading volume. Daily volume in TradFi perpetual contracts and contracts for difference, or CFDs, each went past $10 billion.

The company said it has launched stock perpetual contracts, U.S. stock options, and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. Its tokenized stock product, rToken, cleared $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch, and cumulative trades have now topped 3 million. Bitget also said one in every four new users who join the platform begins trading with rToken.

And it said it is still expanding AI-based trading features through its in-house AI trading agent, AI Playbook.

Gracy Chen says the next chapter goes beyond crypto

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said: “In the crypto industry, eight years can feel much longer than eight years in other industries. We have lived through multiple market cycles, watched different narratives rise and fade, and seen the market mature quickly. What is exciting is that the future of trading is still in its early stages. Crypto and traditional financial markets are gradually converging, AI is changing the trading experience, and institutional participation continues to accelerate. UEX is Bitget’s answer to the direction of these trends, and Bitget’s next chapter will go far beyond crypto.”

Proof of Reserves coverage expanded to 24 assets

As part of the anniversary update, Bitget widened the list of verifiable assets in its Proof of Reserves program from four to 24. The company also said its Protection Fund carried an average valuation of about $382 million in August 2026.

Bitget said that while the number of tradable assets on the platform keeps rising, it is also upgrading its security, trading, and compliance systems to back the infrastructure needed for multi-asset trading services.

Institutional trading becomes a key focus for year nine

Bitget said institutional trading services will be one of its main priorities as it moves into its ninth year. As of the second quarter of 2026, institutional client net assets had risen 45% from the end of 2025, while the number of core active market makers climbed from 90 to 248.

The company said it plans to keep improving execution quality, API and quantitative trading infrastructure, institutional services, and cross-asset account functions to support more professional and institutional trading demand.

Anniversary campaign spans global communities

Bitget said its eighth-anniversary campaign will roll out across its global communities and will include KCGI 2026 with a total prize pool of 3 million USDT, a VIP program, product and community events, and in-person events across multiple regions.

According to the company, its core goal is still the same one it had at launch: improving the user trading experience. Through UEX, it said, that goal is now being extended across a wider set of markets, with ongoing work around trading depth, efficiency, and accessibility.
