Bitget used its eighth anniversary to outline how its Universal Exchange, or UEX, strategy is reshaping the platform across crypto, tokenized assets and institutional trading. The exchange said that at peak periods, non-crypto assets accounted for 40% of total trading volume, while daily volume in TradFi perpetuals and contracts for difference each topped $10 billion. It also highlighted progress in newer products: tokenized stock product rToken surpassed $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch, and cumulative trades have now exceeded 3 million. According to the company, one in four new Bitget users now starts trading with rToken. Alongside product expansion, Bitget said it has widened the verifiable asset scope of its Proof of Reserves program from four assets to 24. The company added that its Protection Fund had an average valuation of about $382 million in August 2026. Looking ahead to its ninth year, Bitget said institutional services will become a central priority, with net assets from institutional clients up 45% from the end of 2025 as of the second quarter of 2026, and the number of core active market makers rising from 90 to 248. The exchange also plans to keep upgrading execution quality, API and quant infrastructure, institutional tooling and cross-asset account functions.

Bitget has marked its eighth anniversary by looking back on eight years of trading product development and setting out the next stage of its Universal Exchange, or UEX, strategy. The company said the plan is aimed at bringing crypto markets, traditional finance products and institutional trading services onto the same platform.

UEX strategy expands beyond crypto

Over the past year, Bitget said it accelerated the rollout of UEX by integrating more global markets into one venue. During periods of peak trading activity, non-crypto assets made up 40% of the platform’s total trading volume. It added that daily volume for TradFi perpetual contracts and contracts for difference, or CFDs, each exceeded $10 billion.

The company said it has rolled out stock perpetual contracts, U.S. stock options and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. It also pointed to growth in rToken, its tokenized stock product. According to Bitget, rToken passed $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch, and cumulative trades have now moved past 3 million. The exchange said one out of every four new users on Bitget now begins trading with rToken.

Bitget also said it is expanding AI-powered trading features through its in-house AI trading agent, AI Playbook.

Gracy Chen says the next phase goes beyond crypto

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said, “In the crypto industry, eight years can feel much longer than eight years in other industries. We have lived through multiple market cycles, watched different narratives rise and fade, and seen the market mature quickly. What is exciting is that the future of trading is still in its early stage. Crypto and traditional financial markets are gradually converging, AI is changing the trading experience, and institutional participation is continuing to accelerate. UEX is Bitget’s choice in response to where these trends are heading, and Bitget’s next chapter will go far beyond crypto.”

Proof of Reserves coverage widened to 24 assets

As part of the anniversary update, Bitget said it expanded the range of verifiable assets in its Proof of Reserves program from four to 24. The company also said the average valuation of its Protection Fund was about $382 million in August 2026.

Bitget added that as the number of tradable assets on the platform continues to rise, it is also refining its security, trading and compliance systems to support a broader multi-asset trading infrastructure.

Institutional trading set as a ninth-year priority

Looking into its ninth year, Bitget said institutional trading services will become one of its main development priorities. As of the second quarter of 2026, net assets from institutional clients were up 45% from the end of 2025, while the number of core active market makers increased from 90 to 248.

The exchange said it plans to keep improving execution quality, API and quantitative trading infrastructure, institutional services and cross-asset account capabilities to support more professional and institutional trading demand.

Global anniversary campaign to include KCGI 2026

Bitget said its eighth anniversary campaign will roll out across its global community and include KCGI 2026 with a total prize pool of 3 million USDT, a VIP program, product and community events, and in-person events in multiple regions.

The company said that as it enters its ninth year, it will remain focused on the same core goal it has had since launch: improving the user trading experience. Through UEX, Bitget said it is extending that goal to a broader set of markets while improving depth, efficiency and accessibility in its trading services.
