Crypto exchange Bitget has launched a synthetic asset product called preOPAI under its OpenAI IPO Prime program, letting users get early exposure to OpenAI's future stock performance with a minimum stake of $100. The token is built on the Solana blockchain and issued through licensed partner Republic, tracking OpenAI's valuation 1:1 after its public listing.
Tight Subscription Window and Token Distribution
The subscription period runs from 8:00 UTC on May 12, 2026 to 8:00 UTC on May 15, 2026, lasting only 72 hours. A total of 29,082 tokens are available, valued at $21.08 million. Users can commit USDT or USDGO stablecoins. Investment caps depend on VIP tier: regular VIPO users can commit up to $10,000, while PRO-level users can go up to $600,000. Funds are locked until distribution on May 15.
Tokens will be released in three batches: 30% on May 15, another 30% on June 15, and the final 40% on July 15, 2026. This staggered schedule is designed to stabilize the market after listing.
Implied Valuation Nears $900 Billion
Bitget shows the current subscription price at $725 per preOPAI token, implying an OpenAI valuation of $898 billion. The product is a synthetic asset and does not represent actual equity, carrying high risk.
Previous SpaceX Product Delivered Quick Gains
Bitget previously offered a pre-IPO SpaceX token called preSPAX, where early participants saw +25% gains in under 30 days as SpaceX's valuation rose toward $210 billion. Bitget projected that valuation could eventually exceed $2.2 trillion. While preSPAX targeted space exploration, preOPAI taps into OpenAI's $4 trillion AI market opportunity and its 900 million weekly active users.
Secondary Trading Begins May 15
Bitget will enable 24/7 trading of preOPAI from 22:00 UTC+8 on May 15, 2026. If OpenAI completes its IPO as expected in 2026, early preOPAI holders could benefit. This article is for informational purposes only. Crypto assets are highly risky; do your own research.
