Bitget has launched preOPAI on its IPO Prime platform, adding OpenAI to its lineup of pre-IPO economic exposure products. The asset is issued on Solana by regulated partner Republic and is structured to track, on a 1:1 basis, the economic performance tied to OpenAI after a future IPO. The minimum subscription amount is set at $100.

Subscription window and spot listing schedule

According to the announcement, subscriptions for preOPAI will run from May 12, 2026 at 08:00 to May 15, 2026 at 08:00 UTC. Allocation distribution is scheduled for 08:00 to 12:00 UTC on the same day, followed by the start of spot trading at 14:00 UTC. Bitget presents the product as a lower-barrier route for users seeking access to high-profile AI-related pre-IPO economic rights.

Bitget said holders will be able to trade the asset after allocation, rather than waiting for an IPO event to gain liquidity. Roughly six months after the underlying company goes public, holders may choose to convert based on market price into a stock-linked asset or USDT, setting out a more defined settlement and exit structure.

Second IPO Prime product after preSPAX

preOPAI is the second asset introduced under Bitget’s IPO Prime framework. The first, preSPAX, was tied to SpaceX pre-IPO economic exposure. Bitget said preSPAX has drawn more than 13,000 users and recorded over $171 million in subscription volume so far. The company used those figures to point to growing interest in tokenized pre-IPO products.

The platform describes IPO Prime as a structure that does not grant direct equity ownership. Instead, it uses digital assets to mirror the economic performance of the target company. Bitget said the issuance model, combined with Republic’s role, is meant to create a more defined framework around compliance, liquidity, and market access than typical tokenization setups.

Gracy Chen explains the OpenAI choice

In comments included with the release, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said IPO Prime is designed to bring high-quality global assets to users with lower entry barriers and higher transparency. She framed the product around two long-standing issues in private equity access: high capital requirements and weak liquidity. The tokenized format, she said, is intended to reduce participation costs and avoid long lock-up periods.

On OpenAI specifically, Chen pointed to the company’s position in the AI sector and its market attention. She also said Bitget obtained direct Primary exposure from OpenAI’s latest funding round rather than older secondary shares. In her description, the structure uses direct injection through an underlying fund with fewer layers. Chen added that Bitget follows a “list only with inventory” principle, with each token backed 1:1 by underlying real equity.

Company and wallet figures were also disclosed

Bitget said it was founded in 2018 and now serves users in more than 200 countries and regions, with over 120 million users on the exchange. Bitget Wallet, according to the same material, serves more than 80 million users, supports over 130 blockchains, and maintains a $300 million user protection fund.
