Bitget, the world's largest Universal Exchange (UEX), released its Q1 2026 Transparency Report on April 14, revealing a dramatic shift in user trading behavior. The report shows that non-crypto assets grew from near zero at the start of the year to account for 20% to 40% of total trading volume by the end of March, driven primarily by commodities such as gold and crude oil. This marks a clear diversification away from a crypto-dominated environment, where in early January nearly all activity was crypto-based.
Commodities Lead Non-Crypto Surge
The data indicates that as volatility in traditional markets increased, Bitget users increasingly allocated capital across asset classes within a single account. By March, crypto's share of volume had moderated to 60%–80%, reflecting a gradual but steady rebalancing. Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, commented: “The lines between crypto and traditional markets are disappearing. What we’re seeing with CFD growth is the early shape of a unified market. Users are not choosing between crypto and traditional assets anymore—they’re trading both together. In Q2, that convergence will deepen as we continue building toward a Universal Exchange where everything trades in one place.”
AI-Powered Trading: Agent Hub and GetClaw
On the infrastructure front, Bitget upgraded its AI trading capabilities with the launch of Agent Hub and GetClaw. These tools enable intelligent agents to access real-time market data, interpret signals, and execute trades autonomously within predefined parameters—moving beyond simple assistance to full execution. The release of the Universal Exchange whitepaper further defined this vision, outlining how crypto, tokenized assets, and AI-driven trading will converge within a unified architecture. The roadmap positions the current phase as a turning point where AI-native interfaces and multi-asset access begin moving into mainstream usage.
Bitget Wallet Expands Real-World Payments
Beyond trading, Bitget Wallet launched the Onchain Payments Matrix, connecting 90 million users to over 150 million merchants across 50+ markets. Integrations with networks such as XRP Ledger and Stellar extended cross-border payment capabilities, positioning digital assets as embedded infrastructure within everyday financial activity rather than standalone tools.
