Bitget has officially launched U.S. stock options trading, offering access to more than 540 popular underlyings covering the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow Jones 30, and major ETFs. This marks the crypto exchange’s expansion into traditional financial derivatives beyond crypto spot and futures products.
Trading Rules and Settlement Details
The new options feature adopts a T+1 settlement cycle, consistent with U.S. cash equities. Trading hours are from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. Only cash transactions are supported (no margin buying), and the margin requirement for Long Call and Long Put positions is set at 100%, meaning users must pay the full premium upfront. The platform provides a profit/loss estimation tool before order placement and supports order modification, cancellation, and record queries, aiming to enhance transparency and user experience.
Appeal for Crypto Traders
By integrating U.S. stock options, Bitget allows crypto-native users to access traditional equity derivatives without opening a brokerage account. The initial selection includes major index ETFs (e.g., SPY, QQQ) and popular individual stock options, with plans to gradually cover all stocks and ETFs. Users need to update the Bitget App to version 2.87.0 or higher to access the feature.
