Bitget Officially Launches U.S. Stock Options Trading with Over 540 Symbols
According to ChainCatcher, cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has announced the official launch of its U.S. stock options trading feature. The initial offering includes more than 540 popular underlying assets, covering major indices such as the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Dow Jones 30, along with mainstream ETFs. Bitget stated that it will gradually expand coverage to include all listed stocks and ETFs in the future, thereby enriching the range of tradable instruments available to its users.
Trading Rules: T+1 Settlement, Cash-Only, 100% Margin
The newly launched options feature adopts a T+1 settlement cycle, consistent with the U.S. stock spot market. Trading hours are from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. Only cash transactions are supported; margin buying is not allowed. The margin rate for both Long Call and Long Put positions is set at 100%, meaning users must pay the full premium upfront without any leverage. This design reduces credit risk but also limits capital efficiency. The platform explicitly states that these measures are intended to optimize user experience and lower the entry barrier, allowing all users to trade U.S. stocks on Bitget with greater transparency.
Enhanced User Experience: Profit/Loss Estimation, Order Modification, and Record Queries
To further improve the trading experience, Bitget has simultaneously introduced a profit/loss estimation tool that helps users visualize potential gains and losses before entering a trade. The system also supports order modification, cancellation, and historical trade record queries, enabling users to respond flexibly to market changes and achieve more transparent asset allocation. Users need to update their Bitget App to version 2.87.0 to access the U.S. stock options trading feature.
Industry Impact and Outlook
Bitget's launch of U.S. stock options trading marks a significant step in its expansion from crypto derivatives into traditional financial derivatives. By offering equity options, the platform attracts attention from traditional investors while providing its existing user base with more diversified investment tools. However, given the cash-only requirement and 100% margin rate, this product is best suited for conservative users who prefer to participate in the U.S. stock options market with full upfront payments. If Bitget can gradually lower margin requirements or introduce margin trading in the future, its competitiveness in this space could be further enhanced.
