Bitkan has launched over-the-counter (OTC) Bitcoin Cash trading through its mobile app, expanding its digital asset offerings beyond its earlier OTC Bitcoin service. OTC trading allows users to execute deals outside an exchange’s public order book, a structure often favored by high-volume traders seeking more competitive pricing and reduced market impact.
Bitkan expands OTC services on mobile
The company said the new Bitcoin Cash feature is now available directly in its app. Bitkan had already introduced OTC Bitcoin trading on mobile the previous year, after receiving major investment from Chinese mining hardware giant Bitmain. By adding Bitcoin Cash, the firm is extending what it sees as a natural expansion of the broader Bitcoin market while trying to remain competitive in China’s fast-moving cryptocurrency trading sector.
In its statement, Bitkan argued that Bitcoin Cash users substantially overlap with Bitcoin users. It also pointed to the fact that Okcoin and Huobi had opened BCC deposit and withdrawal services, which the company viewed as a sign that Bitcoin Cash could build further momentum in the near term.
Company sees strong OTC growth potential in China
Alongside the Bitcoin Cash rollout, Bitkan also added Ethereum support to its mobile app that same week. Sandy Liang, a representative of the company, said Bitkan believes OTC cryptocurrency trading in China has meaningful growth potential. According to the firm, the crypto market has been highly active this year, user demand has continued to rise, and the OTC segment should become more diversified over time.
OTC markets are particularly relevant for larger traders because transactions can be arranged without going through visible exchange order books. That can help limit slippage and reduce the price disruption often associated with large trades. For Bitkan, expanding into Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum support appears aimed at capturing a broader base of mobile-first crypto users.
Broader push to strengthen market presence
Founded in 2013 in China, Bitkan has long sought to position itself as a leading mobile Bitcoin services provider. Beyond product expansion, the company is also preparing to host the “Shape the Future” 2017 Blockchain Global Summit in Beijing the following month. The event is expected to feature major Chinese and international cryptocurrency figures, including Bitmain’s Jihan Wu, Huobi’s Leon Li, OKCoin’s Star Xu, ViaBTC’s Haipo Yang, John McAfee, and Roger Ver. Taken together, the launch of OTC Bitcoin Cash trading reflects Bitkan’s effort to respond to shifting user demand while deepening its role in China’s broader crypto ecosystem.
