Bitmain, the world's leading manufacturer of ASIC mining rigs, has officially introduced its newest bitcoin miner — the Antminer S19 XP Hyd. Boasting a hashrate of 255 terahash per second (TH/s) and an efficiency of 20.8 joules per terahash (J/T), this liquid-cooled machine sets a new benchmark in the mining industry.
Performance and Specifications
The Antminer S19 XP Hyd. consumes 5,304 watts of power while delivering the highest hashrate ever seen in a single unit from Bitmain. It supports mining of Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Bitcoin SV (BSV). Its efficiency rating of 20.8 J/T represents a significant improvement over the previously announced S19 Pro+ Hyd., which offers 198 TH/s at 27.5 J/T.
Pricing and Availability
Each Antminer S19 XP Hyd. is priced at $19,890, with bulk order options available on Bitmain's website. However, customers will need to wait until January to March 2023 for delivery. In contrast, the less powerful S19 Pro+ Hyd. (198 TH/s) costs $15,048 and is slated for shipment in May 2022.
Market Context and Comparison
Currently, the most common mining rigs on the market, such as the Microbt Whatsminer M30S++ and the Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro (110–112 TH/s), generate approximately $10 per day in BTC profit at an electricity cost of $0.12 per kWh. The S19 Pro+ Hyd. could produce around $19.89 daily under the same conditions. The new 255 TH/s machine promises even higher profitability for early adopters with access to cheap power and adequate cooling infrastructure.
Infrastructure Solutions
Bitmain also offers a containerized mining solution called the Antspace HK3, designed specifically for its hydro-cooling miners. Priced at $110,000 per container, it can house up to 210 mining rigs and provides 1 megawatt (MW) of power. The company recommends using these containers to maximize the performance and lifespan of liquid-cooled ASICs.
With previous models selling out quickly last month, Bitmain appears to have replenished its inventory. The firm is also selling the Antminer S19 XP air-cooled variant (140 TH/s) for $11,620 and the S19j Pro (104 TH/s) for $9,984. As the Bitcoin mining difficulty continues to rise, the introduction of the S19 XP Hyd. marks a new era of efficiency and scale for the industry.
