Bitmine says it has built the world’s largest ethereum treasury. As of August 10, the company held 1,150,263 ETH, valued at roughly $4.96 billion based on an ETH price of $4,311. The disclosure places Bitmine at the top of the list of corporate ethereum holders globally.
The latest figure represents a sharp jump from the $2.9 billion in ETH the company reported just one week earlier. Bitmine said its dedicated ETH treasury strategy began on June 30 and the transaction closed on July 8. In the five weeks since launch, the company has scaled its holdings rapidly.
Total Crypto Treasury Tops $4.98 Billion
When additional digital assets are included, Bitmine’s total crypto treasury now exceeds $4.98 billion. That makes the firm the third-largest corporate holder of crypto treasury assets worldwide, behind only Strategy and Marathon Digital Holdings.
Bitmine board chairman Tom Lee highlighted the pace of accumulation, saying the company increased its ETH holdings by $2.0 billion in a single week. He described the move as part of Bitmine’s pursuit of the “alchemy of 5% of ETH” and pointed to growth in crypto net asset value per share as well as rising stock-market liquidity.
BMNR Trading Activity Surges
Bitmine’s stock, listed as NYSE American: BMNR, has also become one of the most actively traded names in the U.S. market. Over the five trading days ending August 8, the stock recorded an average daily trading volume of $2.2 billion. That level of liquidity ranked Bitmine 25th among more than 5,700 U.S.-listed companies, placing it between Costco Wholesale Corp. and JPMorgan.
The company’s ETH treasury strategy is backed by institutional investors including Ark Invest, Founders Fund, and Pantera Capital. With its fast-growing ethereum reserves, expanding overall crypto treasury, and unusually strong trading liquidity, Bitmine is emerging as a closely watched name in both crypto and equity markets.
