Bitmine announced a $200 million investment in Beast Industries, the business entity behind YouTube creator MrBeast, with the deal scheduled to close January 19. The self-described Ethereum treasury company is placing a massive bet on the creator economy's biggest player.
Beast Industries Eyes Financial Services: MrBeast Financial Trademark Filed
Beast Industries has filed a trademark application for 'MrBeast Financial' with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, covering crypto payment processing, exchange services, and decentralized trading. CEO Jeff Housenbold said the company is exploring ways to incorporate decentralized finance into an upcoming financial platform. The application remains in early review stage with no examiner assigned yet; trademark filings do not guarantee product launches.
Tom Lee's Play: From Ethereum Treasury to Creator Investment
Bitmine founder Tom Lee described Beast Industries as 'the largest and most innovative creator-based platform in the world,' capable of reaching younger demographics. MrBeast's main YouTube channel boasts hundreds of millions of subscribers. Bitmine aims to acquire 5% of Ethereum's total supply and counts Cathie Wood's ARK, Founders Fund, Bill Miller III, Pantera Capital, Kraken, DCG, and Galaxy Digital among its backers. The company trades on NYSE American, executing digital asset strategies for institutional investors.
Unproven Allegations Shadow MrBeast's Crypto Past
Months before the investment, crypto investigator Coffeezilla released a video alleging MrBeast made over $10 million from SuperVerse by purchasing tokens at $100,000 during presale, promoting them, and selling during unlock periods. Leaked screenshots and wallet analysis were cited. Similar allegations involved PMON, STACK, Ethernity, and XCAD. A representative for MrBeast said investments were managed by a fund with experts and fully compliant, adding that MrBeast does not personally own or manage the wallets. Separate blockchain analysts claimed in October that MrBeast controls over 50 wallets generating $23 million through various schemes. None of these claims have been proven in court.
Gateway for Younger Users? Institutional Capital Meets Creator Power
Industry observers note that a Beast Industries crypto platform targeting MrBeast's audience could serve as an entry point for younger users entering digital assets. MrBeast's viral stunts and philanthropic giveaways have built an audience large enough to justify nine-figure investments. Public metrics show no significant decline after the crypto allegations or workplace harassment findings from an investigation by attorney Alex Spiro. Beast Industries operates as a media company with diversified revenue streams beyond advertising.
Bitmine held its annual stockholder meeting at the Wynn Las Vegas on Thursday. The $200 million deal ties institutional capital to a creator with a controversial but massive following—one whose next move could redefine how influencers enter crypto finance.
