Bitmine Immersion Technologies has accelerated its Ethereum accumulation strategy, purchasing 101,627 ETH in a single week, the largest weekly net addition since December 2025. The move brings the company's total Ethereum holdings to 4,976,485 ETH, equivalent to approximately 4.12% of the entire circulating supply. This solidifies Bitmine's position as the largest corporate holder of the digital asset.
Closing in on the 5% Target
The company has publicly stated its ambition to control 5% of all Ethereum. With the latest purchase, it is now roughly 82% of the way toward that goal, having started the accumulation program just nine months ago. Chairman Thomas "Tom" Lee characterized the recent market downturn as a "mini crypto winter approaching its end" and highlighted Ethereum's outperformance versus traditional assets. He noted that Ethereum benefits from dual tailwinds: Wall Street's tokenization trend and the growing need for public, neutral blockchains by autonomous AI agents.
Bitmine's total crypto, cash, and investment portfolio is valued at approximately $12.9 billion, including $1.12 billion in cash, 199 BTC, and equity stakes in firms like Beast Industries ($200 million) and Eightco Holdings ($107 million).
Staking as a Revenue Engine
Beyond merely holding Ether, Bitmine has deployed about 3.33 million ETH into staking through its proprietary institutional-grade validator network, MAVAN. At current staking rates, this generates an estimated $220 million in annualized yield. Initially built for internal use, MAVAN is now being offered to external clients such as asset managers and custodians seeking reliable staking infrastructure.
The company also recently uplisted to the New York Stock Exchange from the NYSE American, broadening its institutional investor base. Concurrently, Bitmine announced a $4 billion share repurchase program, and its stock has become one of the most actively traded U.S. equities by volume, reflecting robust liquidity and investor interest.
Risk Considerations
Bitmine's concentrated exposure to a single digital asset leaves it vulnerable to price volatility. A sharp decline in ETH could significantly impact its balance sheet. Additionally, as supply tightens, further large-scale purchases may become more challenging. Nevertheless, the firm has signaled its commitment to continue buying, betting on Ethereum's long-term value as critical infrastructure for finance and emerging technologies.
