BitMine said on Aug. 31 that its total assets had reached $15.6 billion, driven by a large Ethereum treasury that now stands at 5,901,112 ETH. The company added 53,501 ETH over the past week, lifting its share of Ethereum’s circulating supply to 4.9% and bringing it closer to its stated 5% reserve target. Its disclosed holdings also include 211 BTC, $81 million in Eightco Holdings stock, $180 million in Beast Industries shares, and $541 million in cash and marketable securities. The update also showed a recovery in liquidity. BitMine’s cash position had previously fallen to a 2026 low of $78 million as of Aug. 16 after continued ETH purchases and a $4 billion common-share buyback program tied to BMNR. In its latest release, the company said cash and marketable securities had rebounded to $541 million. ABMedia’s report noted that BitMine did not explain whether the increase came from issuing new BMNR shares. The report also said BMNR rose 43% over the past month as ETH returned to the $2,500 range. Chairman Tom Lee said several positive catalysts could emerge in the final months of 2026, including a CLARITY Act vote scheduled for mid-September. He also said Korean investors had resumed buying crypto while selling AI stocks.

Latest holdings disclosed by BitMine

According to the latest portfolio update released yesterday, BitMine held $15.6 billion in assets as of Aug. 30. The disclosed positions included 5,901,112 ETH, 211 BTC, $81 million in Eightco Holdings stock (ORBS), $180 million in Beast Industries shares, and $541 million in cash and marketable securities.

Over the past week, the company acquired 53,501 ETH. That pushed its Ethereum holdings to 4.9% of total supply, leaving it close to what the report described as its "5% alchemy" target.

More than 87% of ETH is staked through MAVAN

BitMine said 5,067,309 ETH, more than 87% of its total ETH holdings, had been deployed for staking through its institutional-grade node network MAVAN. The company said staking rewards would continue to be rolled back into the treasury on a compounding basis.

Cash rebounds from yearly low as BMNR gains 43% in a month

ABMedia said BitMine had previously seen its cash drained by continued ETH buying and a $4 billion share buyback program for its common stock, BMNR. As of Aug. 16, 2026, the company’s cash balance had fallen to a yearly low of $78 million.

In its latest press release on Aug. 31, BitMine said cash and marketable securities had recovered to $541 million. The company did not say whether that increase came from issuing new BMNR shares. The report added that with ETH returning to the $2,500 range, BMNR had climbed 43% over the past month, easing liquidity pressure in a tangible way.

Tom Lee points to Korean flows and a cycle low

Chairman Tom Lee said: "We believe there are several positive catalysts in the final months of 2026. These include the CLARITY Act vote scheduled for mid-September. In addition, Korean investors have once again started buying cryptocurrencies and selling artificial intelligence stocks. We believe the four-year cycle will bottom in the coming weeks. Given the tailwinds from tokenization and agentic AI, we expect institutional investors to buy large amounts of cryptocurrency in the final months of 2026."
