Bitmine has staked another 98,352 ETH, valued in the report at $229 million, pushing its total staked ether to 3,587,821 ETH worth about $8.35 billion. Lookonchain flagged the transaction on April 24, making it the company’s third large staking move in the same week. Based on the figures cited, 72.1% of Bitmine’s holdings are now staked, extending its lead in institutional ether staking.
More than 250,000 ETH staked in 48 hours
Before the latest transfer, Bitmine had already staked 93,600 ETH and 61,232 ETH in two separate transactions over the previous 48 hours, valued at $218 million and $142 million. Those three batches together exceed 250,000 ETH. The pace points to a rapid conversion of held ETH into staked ETH rather than a slower rollout.
Staking locks ether into Ethereum’s proof-of-stake consensus layer, where it earns yield and supports network security. At Bitmine’s scale, validator income is material. Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee has previously described that yield component as a key part of the company’s case for building a very large ETH position.
Staking ratio jumps from 68.24% to 72.1%
Earlier in the week, Bitmine’s reported staked total stood at 3,395,869 ETH, equal to 68.24% of holdings. After the latest series of transactions, that ratio has climbed to 72.1%, showing a sharp increase in how quickly the firm is moving its ether into staking.
The report says Bitmine is working toward a long-term goal of holding 5% of all ether ever issued. Tom Lee has referred to that strategy as the “Alchemy of 5%.” According to the figures cited, the firm holds about 4.97 million ETH in total, roughly 4.12% of total ether supply.
MAVAN carries the $8.35 billion staked position
The staked portion, now valued at $8.35 billion, is deployed through Bitmine’s MAVAN, short for Made in America Validator Network. The platform is designed as institutional staking infrastructure that gives outside participants access to Ethereum’s proof-of-stake layer. The article says MAVAN made Bitmine the world’s largest ether staking entity when it launched, and the latest additions have widened that lead.
Separately from staking, Bitmine also added 101,627 ETH earlier this week in a single accumulation event valued at $233 million, showing that acquisition and deployment are running in parallel. The report also notes that Bitmine completed its NYSE uplisting in April, giving shareholders a regulated equity route to gain ETH exposure.
